Corporate Financial Analyst

This analyst focuses on transactions and details, and is process-oriented with a broad understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).  Additionally, this team member is fully capable of maintaining accurate and current general ledger(s) and preparing and analyzing comparative GAAP-basis financial statements.  The analyst possesses skills to process transactions for the entire monthly closing cycle and to conduct thorough and analytical self-reviews. Advanced PC and financial systems knowledge with the ability to adapt to a continuously changing work environment are essential.  In addition to a solid accounting acumen, the analyst is a self-directed problem solver who interacts well with others.

Job Responsibilities:
• Perform monthly general ledger close process for corporate services entities, including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation and variance analysis to ensure compliance with US GAAP as well as inter-company reconciliation / collaboration for proper reporting eliminations
• Support and assist Corporate Controller with preparation of Armada’s monthly consolidated financial statements and various monthly financial reporting packages
• Monthly financial analysis, including budget-to-actual analysis and research/follow-up as needed
• Manage processing of capital assets and respective depreciation within fixed asset accounting system, including coordinating allocation across business units
• Record corporate payroll by department in JD Edwards on a timely basis
• Assist and support the Corporate Controller with cash management functions, including but not limited to, daily updating of corporate services cash roll forwards, assistance with consolidated cash forecasting, execution of both internal and external banking transfers, as well as proper recording of cash transactions in JD Edwards
• Prepare and distribute weekly working capital report to Finance leads
• Play a supporting role in annual corporate shared services financial plan
• Support the annual year-end audit and tax processes with external accountants
• Support and complete ad hoc analyses and projects related to Armada corporate shared services and other related expenses
• Assist in the development and maintenance of business unit metrics, measures, and KPIs that result in:
• Greater financial visibility and accountability, and
• Identify opportunities for process improvement initiatives that more fully leverage our current investments in technology and personnel
• Ensure all documents are maintained in accordance with company document retention and storage policies
• Adhere to finance policies, procedures and internal controls

• Minimum - BS/BA Degree in Accounting / Finance
• Certification Public Accountant (CPA) -OR- MBA / Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Related Concentration

Work Experience
• 2-4 years of experience in public accounting – “Big 4” or regional
• 2-4 years of combined experience in public accounting and corporate/shared services industry experience

Desired Skills and Experience
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and general accounting
• Experience in all aspects of general ledger accounting and reporting
• Transaction oriented with detailed understanding of financial process flows
• ERP general ledger experience preferred (JD Edwards 9.0)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
• Positive yet assertive and communicative personality
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

• Position is headquartered in Pittsburgh at the Armada Supply Chain Solutions’ corporate headquarters.
• Business travel to operational sites may occur on a very limited basis, but is anticipated to be very rare.
