Supply Chain Engineer

SUMMARY
Hands on supply chain analytics and optimization projects involving sourcing, transportation, warehousing, product flow channel selection, inventory optimization, and network design.  Provide cross-functional support to ASCS operating business units and finance for various national restaurant chains and pursuit of growth opportunities. 


RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Structure, Validate, Analyze, and Manage large amounts of data specific to supply chain analytical projects, problem solving, and decision support.

2. Use commercially available modeling and optimization packages to formulate, solve, analyze, and quantify the cost/service impacts of various supply chain designs, processes, and policies.

3. Apply practical logistics and supply chain knowledge to identify and drive implementation of key network design, process, and cost improvements for ASCS operating business units and related customers. 

4. Through effective teamwork manage multiple projects by aligning priorities and project scope requirements with available Supply Chain Engineering resources.

5. Develop clear, concise, and insightful data-driven presentation materials and communicate (both written and verbal) to a variety of audiences at all levels within ASCS and our partner organizations.

6. Assist in developing formats and automating processes for reporting various supply chain metrics and Key Performance Indicators to ASCS operating business units and our partner organizations.      


QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirement

Minimum:
• 3-5+ years experience in a supply chain engineering/modeling position
• Experience in logistics analysis and solutions development for large-scale supply chain network problems
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research

Preferred:
• Experience developing and/or utilizing logistics-related modeling tools
• Experience in Transportation, Warehousing, and Inventory Management
• Master of Science degree a plus

Language and Technical Skills requirement
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access, and SQL.  Ability to program Macros (VBA) is a plus
• Ability to aggregate, manipulate, and automate data for efficient upload into supply chain modeling applications
• Ability to formulate (and break down, if necessary) large-scale network problems, maintaining the balance between solvability and accuracy
• Basic skills in statistics, including linear regression and probabilities
• Mapping software experience is a plus (ESRI BusinessMaps, ArcGIS)
• Experience with Llamasoft Supply Chain Guru is a plus
• Data-driven, fact-based, detail oriented approach to analysis and problem solving
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal & written) with internal/external clients
• Strong Project Management skills and ability to work independently within a team environment
